Woodruff Community Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 community organization that seeks to meet the needs of the citizens in the School District 4 area. The Woodruff Community Center (WCC) began in December 2001 as an extension of Spartanburg County School District Four to help children and families in the Greater Woodruff area live healthy and empowered lives.

Over the next few years, the Center offered homework assistance, an after-school program, and a summer enrichment program for children enrolled in Spartanburg County School District Four schools. Within two years, the Center served over 100 children from grades K-5 through eight. Services were extended to assist parents and seniors.

In July, 2007 the Center became independent with a non-profit 501(c)(3) status. The Center has also reached out to the community by providing meeting rooms for church and community organizations, sponsoring health fairs, cultivating a community garden, and hosting several public service seminars.

In April 2012, the Center purchased two buildings on 116 Main Street in the center of Woodruff. In the last couple of years the Center has offered workshops, youth programs, children's summer programs, diapers and hygiene products and prevention classes. Recent fund raising events such as a golf tournament, barbeque, and a bazaar have been held for operational expenses and grants have been written for program expenses. A Thrift Store was opened next door to sell donated items at reasonable prices to help fund the Center. In 2013 a Youth Center was opened to provide services to the youth of Woodruff. We appreciate the individual and business sponsors who express their concern for their community by their giving.

All donations are appreciated. If you are interested in helping your neighbors in the Woodruff community, by mail at P.O. Box 1312, Woodruff, SC 29388. Thank you.
